![]() Now that I typed all this out I just thought of a possible idea, having seperate Reaper projects/tabs set up and switch between those instead of messing with moving keyboards between instruments. Mainstage has an easy to use Patch Up and Patch Down MIDI mapping. ![]() I just have to push a couple buttons on my keyboard to get that done but there has to be a faster way. Right now I have my B3 organ setup with two keyboards on channels 1 and 2, and on some songs I switch the MIDI channel on the lower keyboard to channel 3 for piano and upper organ together. I am not doing sequencing or looping or anything other than playing instruments but I would like to be able to switch between patches easily. I do have one specific issue I had a question about. I would like to hear about all kinds of problems and solutions you have come up with. What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were first getting started? Is there a particular plugin or MIDI control that would make my life easier? I know many other people use this sort of setup all the time with great success. Now I am using Reaper along with Blue3 organ VST and still working on finding a good free or inexpensive piano but there are lots out there. ![]() The Vintage B3 and Piano were nice enough but I hated being tied to an Apple machine of any kind. I had been using Mainstage on a hackintosh since I already had the computer. I am just getting started performing using virtual instruments and MIDI keyboards. ![]()
